There better be all sorts of face-smacking in this novel or else I'd be disappointed. To fill up some space, this novel sounds like a reincarnating I'm Really a Super Star, but rather than "borrowing" works from his world, the protagonist has experience and skills from his past.

I honestly hope not. This guy came from an era of war. He's probably a tactician or something. At least he doesn't need a bloody system. Not everyone needs it... And unlike ZY, not everyone suits a system like him. I just hope this guy isn't an OVER NATIONALISTIC Chinese man. A little bit, yeah... But ZY was always a bit over the top IMO.

Its just sometimes he acts like he hates anything thats not part of his country. He hates Koreans, Japanese, and black people( or at least the author does). The vibes made very uncomfortable and I had to stop reading it even though everything else about it was really great. I actually like nationalism just not the way he does it

Nationalism, Racism, Koreans, Japanese, and black people... That all can be overlooked in the might of Great Face Smacking Zhang Ye. Honestly this novel is too funny to miss out, even if you don't like some elements of it.

He's such a die hard nationalist, sometimes I suspect he's being threatened by the Chinese Government. But it's probably because things like "China! F*ck Yeah!" sells really well in China, whereas in the US it's all about "America! F*ck Yeah!"
