Seems like you haven't even read the novel. The whole 559 chapters is non-stop excitement with no fillers. It's stopped because the author wants quality over quantity.

Naw the novel is actually dropped, I somehow missed that. He released a new novel. Plus you weren't here for the long haul like I was when this first came on Wuxiaworld and transferred here. The chapters started to slow down more and more, with the flow massively hampered by some world building or other event. The issue is massively compounded when you have a very slow chapter release schedule. It's better when you don't have that restriction, as you see the intended book form of what the author sorta intended. That one star comment was true for its time. Now it's just better to say don't pick this up, since the author hasn't either. Piece.

Don't be a kid. Wuxiaworld is pretty much one of the pioneers bringing webonvels to english-speakers. If it wasn't for them, you most likely wouldn't even be reading this novel. And you probably don't understand what filler means if you don't see how a third of this novel is one.

Sadly it's not really a halt in the translation, the author pretty much dropped it.. Every few weeks/months I go on qidian to look for the novel hoping it progressed, but I can tell you that since the novel transferred here (when this site basically opened), 5 chapters were released.

I don't get your animosity against Wuxia world. It's stupid and disrespectful to the translators like CKtalon who, guess what, translate novels on both sites. You are not doing anyone a favor by "taking a side" and especially not when you chose Qidian.

You can check North's email. I didn't add my email to my account. Also how does that even effect the point you are making? I use both sites, and imo Wuxia should have been properly integrated/aquired into Qidian. It would have made things a lot easier than breaching contract and ripping copyrighted material from Wuxia world. They don't even own the rights to some of the original novels, much less the translations(which are owned by the translators). Please humble yourself and stop being so cancerous.

It's people like you who just got into Wuxia and Xania that have caused translators to leave because they aren't payed properly or are treated as property. It totally breaks my heart. By all means this is a good step forward, Qidian has made it possible for lots of people to translate and edit to make a decent income, but they are absolutely wrong on the Wuxia world matter. Qidian has to deal with copy right laws now, the rest of the world actually has such things.
They bought the rights to translate novels and then translated them. Please educate yourself.

Alright then I'll educate you a bit. According to the Copyright Act, copyright subsists in all original work of authorship that is fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Originality means that the work was not copied from some-one else and possesses at least a small amount of creativity. Therefore the question arises as to whether the work of translators meets the requirements for copyright. The Copyright Act discusses the status of translations. A translation is basically a derivative work. Only the copyright owner can authorize a translation that will be distributed. This includes works that are translated into another language and distributed in parts of the world where that language is spoken. Derivative works are infringing if they are not created with the permission of the copyright holder. Thus, a work of fiction or a best-selling biography cannot be translated into another language and distributed without the original author’s or copyright holder’s permission. If the author authorizes a translation, the author owns the copyright in the translation since the translation is a work for hire. This is because in case of a work for hire, the employing party is the author. In fact, it is not even necessary that the translator’s name be revealed in the work.There are some translations that definitely would meet the originality requirement–for example, a new translation of an ancient Greek play or epic poem. The underlying work is in the public domain; thus, the translator may claim copyright if s/he is working from the original or an early version. Although it is a derivative of a public domain work, there is likely enough originality to make the translation eligible for copyright since these original works often exist only in fragments and different versions. There is a second type of work for hire where there is no formal employment situation but when the translation nevertheless may be considered a work for hire. Section 101 of the Copyright Act lists nine types of works which may be specially ordered or commissioned for use as a contribution to collective works. These are considered as work for hire and translations are included in this list described by the statute. However in such cases, the parties must agree in writing that the work will be a work for hire and in such cases, the employer is considered the author and s/he owns the copyright in the work. Thus, there are three requirements to make the non-employment situation work a work for hire: 1. The work must be specially ordered or commissioned. 2. The work must fall into one of the nine listed categories. 3. There must be a writing specifying that the work is a work for hire.
That is US law and can mostly be applied to China, with the caviet of Fair Use. No such thing exists in China due to the economic pressures that make any regulation ineffective(it's sheer size and limited movie trade). That is why the Olympics can get "pirated" to China and the broadcast companies can't do anything about it. This happened here where Qidian stole novels that were commissioned to Wuxiaworld translators and pasted them here. In China they can get away with that, but not here.
The US actually has Fair Use in place and makes these works by the authors and not Qidian. Even if someone else purchased the rights to translate, the translations posted here from Wuxia world still belong to Wuxia world. This is what is happening in Heavenly Jewels case where 2 translations are ongoing, one on Qidian and one on Wuxia world. Both have rights to their translation.
