I very rarely drop novels, however as I have aged and after about 7 years reading light novels and web novels I no longer have the energy nor the patience to slog through poorly written stories with very little logical consistency of the story WITHIN its OWN rules. When the story breaks rules of our world its fine, but when characters are poorly written, or just not written at all with zero motivation or reasoning skills then it makes no sense. Also as a biomed major i can safely tell you that fucking penicillin is not the be all end all this guy makes it out to be and using it in the inexperienced and retarded way he does will lead to most bacteria becoming immune to it within less than 10 years and causing the bacteria to be even harder to deal with as a result which leads to my main gripe. THE MAIN CHARACTER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT SCIENCE, THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD, or the author has no background in the sciences or medicine in general. The poorly written way the author speaks about plant life, medicine creation and the making of penicillin, which is completely retarded the way he uses it BTW, infuriates me on a base level. Also the coincidences and logical assumptions and leaps that the main character does and comes across make NO GOD DAMN SENSE.

lol you may be right but that is such a small part of the novel once you get past the cringe worthy science it gets better you also have to remember that his earth isn't necessarily our earth just his main body of research should explain that so the author isn't necessarily breaking world rules whose to say it doesn't work that way in his earth

well the problem with that small part of the novel is that personally it breaks my suspension of disbelief too much, but mostly because i come from a science background. I do think that otherwise the novel is slightly better than most but not enough to allow me to continue reading unfortunately.

Also this was just a rant I made in the heat of the moment, I have personally only read novels and written a few short stories myself, but nothing more than 100 pages so I don't have as much clout as I would like to assert from my ranting lol.

Well, even though my med knowledge is below meager, i know the penicillin part was stupid, i let it go, it's fking cultivation story after all, hell, it even said gold was harder than steel! after letting this go, every other logically nonsense becomes no more than a breeze
