One of the best novels on this site. MC is intelligent, humorous and good at strategies. The side characters like the other elders from the sect are well developed, and world building is excellent. One caveat is that MC’s cultivation is slow and this can make readers impatient. From my perspective, having this aspect is great compared to many other novels where MC upgrades super-fast relying on random lucky encounters.

I agree. “The Will Eternal” is one of my favorites for intelligent comedy. But I couldn’t really find other similar novels. “I shall seal the heavens” has some similarities (it is good but in a somewhat different way). “Library of Heaven’s Path” and “I’m really a superstar” are more faceslapping, not intelligent comedy. Can’t really think of anything else in the genre :(

Novelupdates has noted it as a prequel, and when I first looked what that was about, the author mentioned it somewhere. It doesn’t really matter as each book can definitely be read on its own (I was similarly confused when I first started reading True Martial World, and they said it was a sequel of Martial World. I was like...what are you talking about? Same thing here.

If you have already read “Night Ranger” on this website, then I recommend “Abyss domination” on gravitytales, “My death flags show no sign of ending” (Japanese) and “The amber sword” (check the links on novelupdates.com). These novels feature protagonist who is transported into a game world. Of course, if you are talking about having game systems, there are plenty on this website- Paradise of Demonic Gods, LoHP, IRAS, the Strongest System, Gourmet of Another World, and the Ultimate Scheming System- are all pretty good. If you are okay with MC just having the game to interact with, then “Rebirth of the Thief who roamed the world” (again, check novelupdates for chapter links).

You won't find any intelligent comedy or good comedy in eastern novels it's only face slapping unless the author is literally inclined like er gen or the author of kings avatar
