I think it's not stupid, and wats entertaining is you trying to shift real world logic into a fiction. Do you think Harry Potter is dumb too? OH JEEZ, JUST USE THE GUNZ, why do the expelliarmus sht when you can use gunsssssssssssssss or canons or just drive tanks or jets into Hogwarts? Oh, and if you were to logic, here i come: I think the novel specifically said that Earth is basically Africa in 2017, not that developed in comparison to others, so they only have one big ship going around and defending Earth s. The premise also stated that espers have faster reflex and stronger body, so a handgun might not even penetrate their skin. MC was at a restuarant and he was even officially enlisted as a soldier yet, and he's in China, so..... where do you get the gun? This isn't America you know. And Idk bout you, but normal ppl don't wear protective suits when they go to a restaurant. And that's up to chap 14, idk wat kind of epic space battle u r expecting but ok....

These are people who own a space frigate and they don't even wear protection suits nor use advanced weaponry which just doesn't make sense no matter how much you try to sugarcoat it... I was expecting mc to not butt in to a fight he wasn't supposed to nor have the qualifications to... Mc's power is not something that can be used in offensive at that point and even a street thug armed with a ****** gun can kill him. But apperantly space raiders are even worse than thugs even tho they own and have the qualifications to use a space frigate... Now you tell me how does that make sense in any way? No matter if mc can negate other esper powers, he can't negate bullets now can he? But nope space raiders are somehow barbarians who use swords and fists to fight even tho they use a high tech spaceship... You wanna know what i was really expecting? For technology to be effective to a certain degree against low level to mid level espers and only after a certain level would technology be negated. Like in the novel Swallowed Star... In that novel weapons are used to kill low level genetic fighters. Hell, there are even powerful lasers that can kill very high level fighters tho these weapons are very hard to make and even dozens of times more expensive than hiring fighters with the same level of power, so it's not really viable to use these weapons everywhere while fighters can be used instead... Now that makes alot more sense!

well, tbh, this is fiction, u r not suppose to question the premise and logic so hard. But ya, idk what kind of rich dudes you expect a small raid group like this will have, they are actually pretty much just thugs, so they are probably just driving around a crappy frigate instead of a military-level one, and they are probably half naked with chest hairs showing like most thugs and raiders (e.g. Guardians of the Galaxy) rather than fully armed like a professional. In addition, their purpose is to do their kidnapping before Earth's army gets there, so they probably didn't expect any resistance, therefore didn't carry too many weapons on them or on board nor get dressed up because those shts r usually heavy if you want them to be able to work against espers. They aren't really expecting to fight an army, nor a bunch of barbaric low level espers, and even if they do run into resistance, they r confident that their power can take care of enemies pretty easily. If that's the case, why bring in the extra weight and slow down the speed of the mission?

translator, that mkes no sense.... "this is fiction, u r not suppose to question the premise and logic so hard." if that was the case what is the point of reviews. Hey review my book, but only if it is a positive review. otherwise say nothing. comments and reviews are only helpful to the growth of stories when they are negative. They shine light on the cracks and flaws in the writing. positive reviews, while motivating and cool. Are only helpful to a point when it comes to the quality of the writing itself... I keep seeing reviewers getting their heads chewed off by authors and translators on Qidian, all just because the review they left was not positive or because it pointed out why they are not interested in the story. It is ridiculous.

don't get me wrong, there r obvious flaws in this novel, and plus the really shtty sudden ending. that's why I liked the beginning the most, but as the novel progresses it becomes a little mediocre (or maybe I'm just used to it). But I feel like the "flaws" mentioned by Noxiety doesn't really make sense. Hence, after I said you are not supposed to question the premise too hard (such as why chakra exists in Naruto, why's there magic), I also gave him an explanation as to why things happened the way they did in the situations that Noxiety mentioned. But ya, my way of expressing it could definitely improve. It's just that I got really annoyed by these kinds of "just use guns" argument back when GDN was just published on my own website

Lol! It's stated numerous times that Earth's defenses are complete and utter crap, so why spend money when you can wave swords and whatnot? Bullets are expensive and power charges likely more so. It's called being cost efficient. Now if Earth had more than one ship or stronger espers, different story altogether. In the beginning of the novel, we're the Indians and they're the Pilgrims.

Pilgrims are fighting like barbarians tho... That's my problem! They are not using their flintlocks, not wearing their metal armor and not using their cannons... Instead they are throwing stones at the natives... They are getting killed by a kick and a metal pipe ffs! Why spend money when you can wave swords and whatnot you say? Why did pilgrims use their guns and superior armor to beat the natives then? Why did they use technology to beat the indians? I guess they were all stupid huh? I guess they should have just fought with wooden spears vs wooden spears right? Fk the guns they should have used arrows right? They spent too much money on their stupid advanced technology to beat the natives right? Hah you are funny mate, i don't know if you are trying to cut the branch you are sitting on by giving pilgrims vs indians as an example lol...

Do know that, probably the main cannon of the battleship protecting Earth is the only potent laser cannon earth owns, most of the military power is stationed in a far away place while the others were in the battleship, the last remaining few soldiers were scattered across the world. The pirates may just be low level espers, hired thugs, without any training unlike elite soldiers or anything like that, but even low rank espers could evade bullets. Strength type espers fight better in close range, most long range espers are fire/water attributed espers. The pirate raid was a surprise attack, they would not be prepared such an attack, guns also need training for using it even if they did have guns and some training, it would do little to nothing because the pirates have hostages, some casualties might have arisen among them. They were fighting to take back the hostages not kill them. He also has companions who support him in the fight, one speed user who can easily outrun bullets and one tanky user who well tanks for them in the fight.

TLDR : N0xiety makes a point that in the context the raiders were acting illogically (as assuming you can get ships (even bad ones) you should be able to get weapons such as guns) and that that ruins the premise of the novel for them, other people disagree using subpar English, I think I’ll give this a skip but I enjoyed the comments section

Later in that novel this is addressed saying that interpersonal battles between the people with powers are done with armor and that these guys deal with levels of power that makes bullets useless. Laser weaponry IS effective, but the lasers don't come in small enough form to be on infantry. Now, that premise DOES have very little to do with reality, as do many others in the story. But honestly, I'm okay with giving it my suspension of disbelief. That being said... the writing is honestly just garbage. It's so painful and cringeworthy to read.
