The Mc reminds me of Howl from Howl’s moving castle, it’s an old animation movie that’s very popular. Augustus the Mc is similar to Quinn West from HP: Magical Journey fanfic. Where they pursuit magic and knowledge above everything else. Mc doesn’t have any knowledge of the HP world and MC doesn’t care to intervene with the plot that doesn’t involve him directly. He gives advice to other main characters so you can say he’s a background character to the story but it’s only like this from the start. This fanfic is for the long run and it’s a refreshing to have an Mc that doesn’t see the world black or white good or evil. Hopefully my expectations are kept and hopefully as the stroy continues we learn more of our MC.

He’s neither good or evil because he’s barely even a character at this point. He hasn’t done anything worth mentioning and I’ve read to almost 200 chapters.
Who is the love interest?
There being a love interest would imply that the mc is anything more than an npc observer in the context of the world. Closest thing to a love interest is an oc that has a crush on the mc I guess 🤷♂️
