This story marks a lot of improvements over my first one, which I thought was pretty decent. The mc, Devon, has a pretty messed up backstory. I mean, your own father eating you is kind of insane. Then you add on to the fact that his villagers cheered and yeah. He is honestly a crashout. Yes, he is still very capable of love. He loves his brother from his old life, his mother from his new life, his dragon he finds a decent bit in, and eventually the Elven waifu Jehrya. But he is definitely out for revenge. If you think this will be a novel where he forgives his father, for better or worse just know that is not true. The anti hero tag absolutely fits. Although Devon is seen by some as a liberator, many also see him as a devil, demon, etc. During the story he tames pretty much every beast using his corruption skill. And there's a crazy twist way further in. Probably gonna take you guys a few years to reach it, so be nice to me or I'll spoil it right now ;).

LIKEi mean, tbf 1) this is for a contest specifically prompted for beast taming and summoning, so it's going to have those 2 themes. 2) He doesn't have anything close to 1 million skill, there is no harem in fact the planned main fl isn't even properly introduced yet in 70 chapters; Kai himself really has no romantic interest at this point in the story. 3) There is no shadow stuff 4) sure ig there's necromancy and skill taking in the essence that he corrupts dead or dying beast souls and inherits some of their traits and abilities and can level them up from there. But that's also just a perversion of the overall power system. any inheritor (people who infuse beast soul with their own rather than actually tames them as if it were a dangerous pet.) has that same kind of ability, where they can take on traits of beasts they've tamed, such as an Eagle's wing. if it isn't your style of story, I understand. There are plenty of other stories on the market, however. I do my best to make sure the story I want to tell is high quality, well thought out, unique, and especially the battles are fresh and don't seem like reskins of a battle earlier in the series.
I already have 6 volumes planned but not expecting to end it there, that's just about where I'd say i have a more concrete idea of where i want the story to go. I'm sticking with it for at least those 6 volumes as I'm pretty excited for them, and I'm more likely than not to continue writing after that.
