This is a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat! The tension builds and builds, especially with the whole spirit thing. You never really know who to trust, and the author keeps you guessing. I loved the way the story shifts between this really gritty, realistic setting and this supernatural world. I think the scene where the grandpa tries to warn the Zhang brothers was a turning point. You could just feel the fear and the misunderstanding in the air. And then, when the fifth son dies and the weasel is found hanging beside him... it's just chilling. It's like the author is saying that there are consequences for your actions, and sometimes they're not what you expect. The ending really got me. The fact that the fifth son comes back to life... well, it just leaves you with a million questions and a seriously creepy vibe. I don't know what's going to happen next, but I need to know!

This is a wild, dramatic story with a seriously supernatural twist! It starts with this epic, almost movie-like scene of the dad defending his family against bullies. You really feel the tension and the raw anger. But then the story takes a turn into the mystical with the whole 'three-year calamity' and the spirit protector thing. It felt like a bit of a jarring shift at first, but the way the grandma explains it all makes it totally believable, especially with the weasels and foxes and everything. Honestly, it was kind of creepy and fascinating. I loved the dynamic between the grandpa and the grandma, how they worked together to try and help the Zhang family even though they'd done wrong. But the ending... wow, just when you think everything's going to be okay, BAM! It's so dark and unexpected. This story definitely left me with a lot to think about!

This is a wild turn of events! The author keeps the story exciting and unpredictable. I'm loving the introduction of these powerful individuals, each vying for the chance to heal Xiao Jie. The monk's reaction to Shen, and the arrival of the man with his daughter, are really intriguing. I'm especially interested in this man's offer of a betrothal. What does this say about the power dynamics at play? Is there something more to these characters and their sudden appearances? This is a great cliffhanger! I can't wait to see what happens next!

It seems like Granny Liu's warnings about the third calamity were spot on. The fact that something so powerful could breach the protections she put in place is terrifying. I'm fascinated by the idea of the old man possessing Xiao Jie, especially after what happened at the hospital. There's a lot of mystery here: what exactly is the old man's motive?
