The draw for me was the family aspect. I loved reading about the MC and his daughter. She was so adorable and a breath of fresh air. Knowing her bio mom wanted nothing to do with her bc she wanted to pursue an entertainment career, she really cherished Chen Yu. Father and daughter were just too adorable 🥰. Speaking of the bio mom, don’t get me started on her. Ugh, why can’t she just jump off the nearest bridge along with her mother 😒 The romance could use a lot of work bc the mc and the teacher seemed more like friends than romantic partners. I won’t say lovers bc even after they got the marriage license, the mc didn’t make a move on her. As the novel progressed, we see less and less of family and more about business. He’s entering cooking and survival competitions, race car races, becoming a doctor, etc. The heart of the story is supposed to be about family and sadly, this novel loses that, and with it the charm that drew me into the story. This story doesn’t seem to reflect the tags given to it. Maybe all the revenge, counter attacking, and faceslapping happens at some point but the first 60 something chapters are only romance and not a good one. After the man’s divorce, a college junior essentially forces her way into his life and business. He isn’t really given a choice and she just moved into his house and convinces his parents to support her. If they had a more natural and organic relationship, I could stand reading it, but the author forces him to accept her in a traumatic experience instead. If you want to read this, you’ll enjoy it but It’s not for me.

till 70-80 chapters was okay, but... shet happened, and he's left and right with criminals, thefts, missions, etc. no family chapters like is supposed to be with this title and few start chapters. it's just a joke of a novel.

First and foremost sorry to author for some of my comments, I think I got to much brain damage from bad chines system novels. Now onto the novel. The novel is good and well written. It's a rather slow story so get straped for the long run. In my opinion it's a good read so give it a try.
