You can rarely find a good romance novel these days, and I think this one can definitely qualify. Unlike the typical materialistic and shallow Chinese cast all the characters seem like actual people rather than just certain archetypes. The story manages to grasp the charm of Chinese culture without being overbearing and unlike the nomal wish fulfillment self-insert type feeling most Chinese novels live to have. The MC basically regressed back in time and is doing his damnest to avoid getting entangled with his childhood sweetheart/ex-wife who became a controlling yandere back in his past life. He also, luckily gets to know a sweet wheelchair bound girl with traditional submissive Chinese tendencies at almost the same time he gets back. However, things are not always so clear cut. Decades of memories spent together and his new approach is causing a lot of tangled emotions. Personally, I'm a sucked for childhood love blossoming into something better. And yes she is a bit psycho but I'm sure the MC can fix her with some targetted neglect play. LOL! My only complaint is whenever something Chinese specific comes up that only native Chinese readers can understand, but it is never explained properly or is just translated literally probably because this was just a machine translation. Aside from that its really enjoyable because of how genuine the whole thing reads to me.
