I wasn't sure where the story was going within the first couple of chapters, however as I kept reading it just got better and better. The grammar was good, and the magic system was well structured and reminded me a little of lord of the mysteries but with a little bit more of a game feel.

the power system starts off a bit derivative (there are worse things to rip off than lotm), but otherwise this is one of the better stories on this site. sprawling plots, interesting mysteries, and continual and steady development.

I like the story and how he has to scheme and plan to live/ progress, but it did have one fundamental flaw: for someone who skips the plot, he knows pretty much every detail that has mattered. I still think it is a good story, and a lot is happening at a good pace, but by doing it this way, it is straying away from the fundamental point of the book that it is even named after
