I’ll give the story 2 stars at least for the authors work on the translation, but the story itself can be quite annoying. Firstly, this is a Chinese Story, translated from MTL to here, and with that this story has quite a bit of “China is superior” rhetoric. A few examples of this is the MC saying he’s from a “superior culinary nation” (China) and how earlier than that statement, he was speaking about how Japan can’t make certain pancakes the way they can in China. Beyond that, there’s some plot holes in the story. The main character is supposed to be from the Tang dynasty in China, yet seems to have knowledge about WebNovels, and even Food Wars as a whole. On top of that, the main character runs a restaurant and openly sells Sake (alcohol) to minors. All around, despite the translators efforts its pretty clear that Chinese nationalism is going to be quite present in this (but most likely dialed down by the translator, at least I would hope)

this should be Chinese mlt translation as I remember reading this book but it all depends of how good you are at translating this work if you can make it better using you own ideas that would be better

I have read the raw 200+ chapters, Translator did a good job translating properly. Not perfect but its okay, what do you expect translating chinese to english its hard. Its a Pass for Me:The best Food War Fanfic you will read because it cooks other cuisine Chinese Author so Expect Chinese Food but also Cooked other food from diffrent countries Japan,America,French etc... You barely find any shokugeki fanfic that cooks other cuisine if its a chinese Author. No Racism, most shokugeki fanfic are racist and chinese food is #1, and the rest are trash. No harem, 200+ chapters the mc only focus on cooking and teaching other student.

I think it's a translation story cuz of the use of many words that Chinese authors like to use like profound bla bla. Tho, it's still decent at least for now. It would have been better if he didn't have a system and tried to learn new dishes through experimenting. Pardon my English.

truth to be told i am just giving it a 4 star due to it being a Food Wars novel though in my opinion the starting should like alll the mtls out there good and later from 50s or 100s it should be boring.

MTL but it is okayish. there are some faults in it that arent really translation errors but just straight up mistakes. a lot of names get swapped around and sometimes a wrong name gets repeated. Somas Dad and Takumi aldini are now friends apparently, Momo is sometimes the owner of SHINOS etc.

good read, character development and semi faithful to the original style of the work. MC is as always an OP char who will never lose and attract all the women, but at least the story has other events not directly involving them, so there's more to like about it other than it being a wish fulfilment kinda thing
