The story is good, interesting, the best thing is that from the first chapter you have elements to know what the background is or at least what type of novel and character it is going to be, you don't leave the reader lost for chapters and chapters and that is a lot of thank. Well written, and with a good argument or so it seems. I'll keep reading to see how the story ends.

While the premise and genre are quite common, your decision to take things slow might result a well polished story. I loved the pacing in the first few chapters. Some advice from me would be attempt a more show don't tell approach. This could be through the thoughts of the MC, or dialogue since omnipotent narrator kills the sense of immersion.
