hey author, i had some questions before I dive deep into your novel. 1) I dropped tbate long ago and mostly don't remember the details. is it fine or will i face problems reading your novel? 2) when will he start actively interacting with the canon characters from dicathen? 3) i know this is a weak to strong progression type novel, but will he actually grow as strong as Arthur in due time? I'm not asking about insta level ups, but gradual progression into becoming op. 4) This fanfic has been marinating in my library for a long time. i think i saved it when you had 20 chapters out. I have seen your writing quality in the first few chapters and i gotta say that you should also try to make some original novels in the future. you have first class writing skills. That's it. i believe this is a nice fanfic. (i know I'm mostly asking for spoilers but please do answer me.)

LIKE1) I don't rely on expectations of the readers knowing every detail about the original, and when there is intersection with canon or changes to it, it's remarked on and elaborated. When Toren starts taking action to change the timeline, his thought process and WHAT he's hoping to change is elaborated on. This is written with the intention of feeling like a companion/AU to the original, and I've had a few people who have never read TBATE in their lives enjoy this, lol 2) Toren interacts with canon characters in Volumes 2 and 3, but those are all of the Alacryan cast rather than the Dicathian ones. (Though, keep in mind that we get flashes to Arthur and the wider world at certain points that show how small divergences are adding up.) In Volume 4 is when his story intersects with Arthur's. 3) Eventually, yes. And if you're asking about mana core Arthur or aether core Arthur, the answer is still yes. But it will take time. DN is intentionally set during the TBATE Volume 5 timeskip on an entirely separate continent, because it gives our protagonist time to grow and strengthen himself without negatively affecting the story.
4) Thank you! I have a few ideas for original works in my head already, and I eventually plan to write them when I finish with DN. I view fanfic writing as a really good way to hone one's writing skills. It's very, very hard to write an original world that's truly compelling and unique from all the rest. Characters, plot, etc... Are all difficult to make into one cohesive form of art. But if you write a fanfic AU, then you've basically got training wheels on. You have your goals, motivations, and characters set up for you already, and you can shift and adjust them in ways that help you better understand how to make a story before you actually write an OG work. DN, while a true passion project of mine, is also the way I've been honing my writing skills :)
I'm happy to answer any questions, no matter how dumb you think they are, lol! I want people to enjoy my work and stories :) Asking questions means you care, in my opinion, and I'll never shoot someone down for that
