Review after volume 1. Have been enjoying this novel. I tend to not really like novels that have some Japanese elements in it that include a MC that can be naive or oblivious and the honorifics can sometimes be cringe, but I'm liking the writing. The honorifics flow nicely and it doesn't feel forced. I think it helps that there isn't a -kun and -chan mentioned. It's still early into the novel, but I do hope we can have more for character design. I thought the first human antagonist was kind of 2 dimensional with how he didn't understand himself and kept trying to convince that he only felt one emotion towards his friends. What got him into thinking this type of way? if it's just an inferiority complex then it's kind of confusing to me how he was only obsessed with tormenting MC and friend, and he wasn't interested in anyone else. Also, hope with the little info so far telling about Aki's obsession with Haru, we can also know how much Haru had a obsession with Aki before the apocalypse. She just seems to have more emotional investment for MC compared to him (excluding the part where he accepts her as a zombie 😜), so I'd personally like little tid bits of quirky/kind of abnormal things he does for her since his friends can already tell it's a abnormal relationship. Just so that it seems mutual with both having equal and matching amount of investment. Hope to read more author!
