Iām in chapter 9 now but I just find the mc pathetic, does he get any sort of ambition or something later or does he stay like that the whole time?

well, I personally just think the MC is acting pretty real by anime standards in contrast to MC's in other fanfics that show off for no reason & say cringe lines. Our MC's ambition is to live and be happy which is realistic for most people that is why people enjoy slice-of-life media.

OH! I get you. well, he is getting stronger as the story progresses & he is making decisions that will affect the plot positively. But you know what you want in your reading experience & I respect that, If it's not your cup of tie keep looking
