Review Detail of Shrexy_boi in As Satoru Gojo in the DC Universe

Alright so I'm giving this review while waiting for a new update. The author seems to think this book is mid, but it's definitely still one of the more popular fics out right now with how many collections it has. This is a really good fic, it just has some bad qualities that the haters like to cry about. It's always the haters that are the loudest. So instead of crying like a braindead self centered narcissist I'm going to give the author some constructive criticism like a normal person. The good: The interactions, I think me and a lot of other people really like seeing Gojo interact with various characters since they are usually always accurate and natural to how the actual characters would act. Supergirl, Ravager, Red Hood, these characters are good examples of fun interactions Gojo has had so far in the story. The in-between: A mix of good and bad, and something I've seen a lot of people complain about is the fight scenes. A lot of people aren't happy with some fight scenes, such as Black Bat and Lady Shiva in particular I think. So basically, Gojo deactivates Limitless in order to test himself against those two and gets hurt, which upset a lot of people. The author stated that he wanted Gojo to learn martial arts, I particularly don't care much about these scenarios as long as Gojo doesn't get beat up by random thug number 2 or something. Still, the fight scenes are enjoyable when Gojo does use his Six Eyes like when he went on a little raid with Ravager or with his fight with Killer Croc. Speaking of Croc, him not killing Killer Croc is another thing people got mad over. It was shown that Gojo didn't mind killing, like with the Black Mask goons. This was something for them to cry about since Gojo could've killed him easily instead of running away from Cassandra. Like before, I don't care whether he kills or not unless it involves the Joker (despite his cheating death bs), or Darkseid. The bad: My personal opinion, but it involves Gojo's sister. With her appearance, it makes Gojo less 'unique'. By that I mean that she also has cursed energy, she doesn't have limitless but she just feels like a completely unnecessary character overall. I don't think the story would've changed at all if she didn't exist, she's just kinda... there? I personally do think that this story would be a lot better without her butting into the middle of it from seemingly out of nowhere. She seems generally unimportant to the actual story but still gets her own fight scenes against Deathstroke ('fight' lol) and Starfire just because the author wanted to demonstrate how strong she is. I don't know if the author is aiming for incest or not but it's not my place to kink shame. I think it would be better overall if she was introduced differently, a normal powerless human but still somewhat relevant as a sibling to the main character. If, and bear with me for a sec, Deathstroke captured her in order to use her as a weakness against him, only for it to not work would be very funny. Since Gojo doesn't (until this point) have his previous body's memories, he just doesn't show up when Deathstroke threatens to kill his sister. "When did I have a sister?" "... He's not showing up, doesn't he care if she lives or dies?" "Did Gojo really abandon me here?" I think that would be more appropriate to this kind of story. And in case you couldn't tell, yes, I did forget the sister's name. Overall, this story has its ups and downs. Is it the best story ever? No. Is it the worst story in existence? No. Is it better than most of the other Gojo in (place franchise here) fic? Yes, by a lot at that. Specifically for Gojo fics, this one still outshines a lot of them with how enjoyable it is despite its flaws. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
