well the story is actually better than I thought, it isn't that great but its way better compare to other Chinese novel tbh. Others complained about the MC is complaining a lot and a salted fish well its true but that's also part of the character of the MC, I mean the synopsis already told you that he's a salted fish and he didn't wanna become a hero so I think compare to other Chinese MC out there where they are arrogant, racist and slapping people faces this is way more better it also added that comedy scene (although not all of them funny) anyway I'm just saying my opinion for this novel 😊 just try this out

I think if the mc starts out whiny and as a 'salted fish' then grows and evolves as a character that's fine it's development, but and it's a huge but, if the character doesn't ever grow, doesn't ever evolve as a person and remains a 'salted fish' for 20/30 plus chapters with no sign of change then people are going to find that obnoxious and will struggle to continue to read
