Are people functional illiterates who can't sound out a name? Are they Sinophobes, xenophobes, or just garden variety racists? Or is WN trying to get us to keep reading and spending cash to read a book they've already sold us? I paid for chapters of '...Bigshot.' My doubts as well. Completely captured.The cultural nuances, expectations and understanding, the mindset, the lifestyle and practices, the places and atmosphere etc are so different. Every country, region and various aspects give rise to diversity. What is wrong with being original and maintaining the originality? Halfway through the first chapter is enough to find misfit characters, settings and plots.I don't understand the necessity to change character names. What is such an urgency to keep releasing their stories with English names in English sounding places nonetheless? Chinese names in novels may be common and confusing but so what? I don't see anyone requesting for "Replace with" English names.

I liked the original, I just saw this one and bingo! the same! And I like the Chinese stories, names and backgrounds. Sad the authors and/or WN are westernizing the novels. They should try to improve the English and translate them better instead
