COMPLETED REVIEW The story focuses on the main female lead Ye Leng An who has been reborn into back into her first birth world after encountering an accident with her cultivation in the second world. But she has retained power and some items from that world, and also somehow has retained memories from her first time in the current world (despite having lived God knows how long in that cultivator world) these worlds are never described in detail so most of it are just up to your imagination. With an extremely feisty personality, she is never described as nice and tbh doesn't really act nice either. She's not exactly the most relatable and sometimes, despite understanding what she does, I still find it questionable. However, she is extremely independent. The story doesn't have many descriptive romantic antics happening, and her relationship with male lead for the most part are comprised with just kisses on the cheek (is2g despite their age, they're friggin kids lol) with like, maybe 2 kisses on the lips pre-wedding The male lead is described as someone all mighty, who at the young age of 24(?) already seems to have the world in their hands. The head of his entire family, the head of a powerful organization and someone who's described to be the most powerful The author has never really mentioned how he came to be that way either. Overall the male lead wasn't really well built so he turned out to feel more like an accessory to make the female lead look good, a plot device to make more trouble for the female lead to shine and ultimately, a piece to make the story fall into the romance genre. 99% of the side characters introduced are against the main characters and serve as cannon fodder to make their life more difficult. Most of the side characters only show up for a short time before being defeated and stored away. Only 2 remain and are mentioned as having a somewhat amicable relationship with the female lead and these were introduced more than halfway along the story. Even so, the relationship seems very surface level. The recurring side characters are their family members who serve to annoy them or serve as minor inconveniences at best. It just felt that way throughout the novel 😅 The author seems to really want to drive home the fact that blood ties aren't important (I hope author doesn't have a turbulent life themselves...) it's my main takeaway from this story lol While the whole story felt overly dramatic and seems to fall kind of flat, there wasn't any part of the story that made me want to drop it, put a pause on it, or made it feel like it was draggy and boring. There wasn't any particular character that felt deep enough to form any attachment to, and it even felt like despite the author claiming the leads are in love, it feels like the female lead doesn't love the male lead as much Didn't really feel reciprocated. But I made it all the way through the novel nonetheless. There weren't any major translation kinks either so that's also a plus Overall, I think it deserves a solid 5/10. Worth reading but only if heavily discounted or even free.
