I just want to say, Grayfia is not even in the top 100 strongest beings in DxD, if Archer is struggling with her then he just became a canon fodder. Servants can’t get stronger, so in the middle or late stages of the plot Archer would just be a decoration. Also, Tracing shouldnt be degraded due to the lack of presence of Gaia, so Archer should be much stronger here.

Well I think the author already broke the rule of servents can't become more stronger since chapter 2 already we saw that archer stats is higher than normally he is so who knows maybe emiya will become even more stronger since it's mostly different system from the normal system he knows also to be fair archer in term of power scaling he is close to grayfia he is far from god tier characters from DXD if author make archer stomp grayfia from the beginning of story then he is mostly wanking archer
Like I said, Grayfia aint even in the top 100, if he cant stomp Grayfia then he’d be canon fodder in the later plot where literal gods, primordials, and outer gods started appearing. And you underestimate Archer too much, the dude killed Heracles seven times without deploying UBW, and you know how OP Berserker Herc is. And does he really need to trace several A-rank NP to fight Grayfia? Have you seen the devastation caused by Gae Bolg? A B-rank? Why does he need to do that? Kanshou and Bakuya is enough, he fought Herc with that, Grayfia shouldn’t have been able to forced him to trace more

And the reason Archer’s stats is higher is because Rias has more mana to supply him. And even then it has limits since he is not a Grand, his Saint Garph is weaker. In HF or was it Ataraxia timeline Sakura has near limitless supply of Mana due to her connection with the root, and she was the one supplying mana to the servants that remained because of Shirou’s Harem Protag EX, and even then their stats did not change much

No the author stated in chapter 2 that archer stats is higher not because rias magic energy it's something he will explain later when plot progress to not spoil

Of course he cant, those three are on a level of a Beast, so if Archer cant stop Grayfia who was not even in the top 100, his presence and relevence would greatly weaken in later plots. why is he so pathetic here? Besides, if he traced Caliburn or Excalibur, then Archer has a chance againts god tier characters as well. Gae Bolg can allow him to kill gods as well if he exploits their pride and arrogance. Archer has been a Counter Guardians for no less thousands of years, if he doesn’t have skills to kill a god with all NP in his UBW then that would be ridiculous

Archer was holding back, never bringing any of his lethal noble phantasm aside from Caladbold at the end. Could he have one shot Grayfia if required? Yes. Grayfia is not the strongest but she is still powerful in her own right. Archer is powerful but his most dangerous attributes are the noble phantasms and their abilities — not his raw stats. And Rias is not responsible for the change in stats, as Rin was more than a capable Master with enough reserves. Neither party fought seriously, it was just them testing each other out. He even mentions it. -_-
