You call this a novel about fishing?! In all 19 chapters I've read, the MC has fished ONE item. What's the rest of the novel about? Why, the MC runs around killing monsters with his frost fruit (literally the ice-ice fruit from One Piece). Mediocre dungeon fantasy, but only gets two stars because of false advertising.

If you received a fishing class would you immediately give up on leveling your class skills? After catching a normal fish in an ordinary zone would you extrapolate that since it was ordinary the one time you tried it would therefore always be ordinary. Even if ordinary fish were the best drop in an ordinary zone, wouldn't it still make sense to level up your skills for when you do have to cast in a special area? If the fishing pole can increase quality then logically any ordinary fish would gain a special quality to it which can be sold or eaten to help in some manner. It is a system novel with skills and stats except he neither has to grind his skills and the ability he gained is extraneous to the system without any reliance on his stats. It is completely irrational and badly written.

AzureConqueror:Because the fish are ordinary. The fishing class and skills are useless outside of the deep wilderness. The only thing that matters is the system and what the author wants. Anyways the whole fishing class was just dumb, the author doesn't know what he wants and is just writing for the sake of word count. The start was okay but it kept becoming obvious the author is a bad writer. I.e. he keeps the story going with forced conflict, showing off, crowds spectating mc's awesomeness etc. Nothing new or interesting.

Read the synopsis again. And the title. As well as the first few chapters. It never said he would be a full time fishing master. He'll only go fishing once he exchanges for a fishing map from his system. And the purpose of his fighting is to both level up and get higher quality loot to exchange for fishing maps. In this world a fishing master can at most get special fish from fishing, but that's deep in the dangerous areas. The MC's system is a cheat and allows him gain special items like the Ice-Ice fruit. So even if he wanted to fish without help from his system's maps, there is no point because it would be ordinary fish and those special fish are in extremely dangerous areas which he couldn't go to anyways because his level is low. Like I said he's also leveling up. This is not like that novel where the MC is farmer and is supposed to have a powerful farming class but fights instead of farming. This one makes the fishing class useless and maps are one-time things from the system

Except he makes no attempt at leveling up his fishing skill after 1 cast. Luck would logically be his main stat whereas it is completely ignored. The ice fruit doesn't even make use of his mana or have any logic to its damage. He has a divine fishing pole that doesn't require bate and increases drop quality so why isn't he even attempting to make use of it outside of these special maps?

Btw he did try fishing once. I think he caught a snail or something. Don't expect fishing, this is the usual power up story. Mc will get fishing maps when the author wants him to get a power up
