Having read the novel, the adaptation is a disaster. A lot of stuff is reordered or plays out a bit differently and the pacing is completely thrown off. Some parts that give you more insight into the main and supporting characters are also just not included.
Now, I know an adaptation doesn’t need to be, and often shouldn’t be, a one to one match to the original, but this honesty a travesty. Honestly, this is not the first manhua I’ve read where the artist takes a perfectly good novel and thinks they know than the author and make all these unnecessary changes. It’s disappointing, especially when you look at all the manhwas that are able to adapt Korean novels without butchering the story.
