Writing quality is mostly fine. Updates are also fine. The start of the story is interesting, but I'm not a big fan of him becoming a mascot in the town and hanging around with humans. Feels like every generic monster mc. Speaking of generic mc, so far he's lacking in personality. Closer to a dog than a monster with a human's mind type of personality . Big fan of the monster hunter world, well, world, although never played the games, the idea itself is nice.

Its mutual help. He doesnt get attacked by the humans and in return he doesnt attack. Also its more like friends then dogs as current him could’ve destroyed the village with ease yet he didnt
Also, even if the mc was a corgi, he could bite people's throats out while they are asleep. A german Shepard can straight up destroy you. So he can still be compared to a dog.
If you read what his reasoning for doing so is I feel like it makes perfect sense. He doesn’t want to get hunted down until he’s too powerful to stop so he’s paying the safe route and making them think he’s not a danger to people. I would honestly probably do the same.
I think if he acted neutral and did his own thing, they wouldn't attack him. I understand that he might be thinking in a 'better safe than sorry', but as a reader, I don't find this option necessary or fun. There's a better alternative for me.
Do the dogs do it because they can? No they dont. They do this because 1:they love their owner or 2: mutual benefits Oh and did i mention having THOUSANDS of extremely skilled hunter chasing you if he kills them?
