I have a specific complaint about this novel. I hate how cavalier the author is about babies. They’re constantly used as a weapon to punish or (less often) reward a person. It’s like the author doesn’t consider babies to be human lives. Just (unnecessary) tools for the plot. It’s really frustrating.

This comment contains spoilers. I left this review before I read the chapter about Panpan killing children to change the fate of her twins. It really reinforced my complaint. The author likes to hurt children in her story and it happens so often that it’s getting harder and harder to read this. I truly hope this changes soon otherwise I’ll be dropping this novel.

I can't give a high rating for this novel. the story is nice but the world, characters and the constant name changing is too confusing. but I did enjoy the story.

I don’t know why or how anyone is giving this a decent review. Genders and names are constantly switched up. The story line is all jumbled. Says the daughter is doted on by her whole family when I haven’t seen that at all. Really, what a headache. Couldn’t make it through the free stuff. It was a good synopsis but it’s not a good read.
