The story was really good but the author decided to throw a surprise that was poorly written, in haste. no build up whatsoever. very amateurish and put a giant dent in the great story this was. Trying to be unique is hard I get it but there's better ways to go about it. if you can ignore this horrible plot point and event altogether then you'll probably still enjoy the story. because it was quite good until then.

You could say that for marvel comics or naruto plot or any famous plot, because they throw surprises in like that to create tension and build up, now with rei not being on seido it can create conflict which brings amusement and excitement to the reader. As noone knows who will become the best ace at the end of the day.
