I mean The witcher is an intellectual property of the original creator/(game developers) so if someone is making money with it the original creators/game developers are entitled to some of the profits. Isn’t that why fanfics don’t make profit and have disclaimers so that there are no copyright issues?

Andrzej Sapkowski holds the copyrights to the Witcher. He has spoken about fanfics many times and has no objections to them. As for the Chinese novele, the Chinese author also did not make money on it and made his work available for free.
