This story has plenty of good ideas. Too bad the author keeps failing to deliver on them. An original gap fruit has the potential to be storybreakingly powerful... and the MC barely does anything creative with it. He might as well have given himself the Door Door fruit. Recruiting Baby 5 seemed interesting and had potential for an emotional bond with an underused character... for all of one chapter or so before the author relegated her to being a minor character and go building a harem for whatever reason. And he isn't even consistent on that front. He simps for Luffy so hard that he refuses to do anything that might affect the future of the SHs, passing up great crew members like Robin just because she will be in the SHs. This story is a collection of half measures and disappointments, and a complete waste of time.

LIKESure. Keep in mind that what I'm about to say covers up to chapter 45 or so, when I had enough of the stupidity and stopped reading. The MC has an original DF that's based on Yukari Yakumo's powers. Given the often conceptual nature of Devil Fruits, I don't need to go into detail about how absolutely storybreaking such a power can be. Even if we ignore some of the higher-level applications, this ability has so many uses. And.... the MC only uses it as a discount Kamui. As for Baby 5, she's the first person who tags along with the MC. Given her canon backstory, you'd think this would be a good opportunity for her to develop in an interesting direction... but she quickly fades into the background as a one-dimensional set piece, while the MC goes off collecting a harem as his "crew". Needless to say, the other harem members don't get much development either. The plot itself is another exercise in frustration. Despite interacting with canon several times, the MC for some reason absolutely refuses to make any noticeable changes. For example, he joins Doflamingo's crew to get training (only to leave when he thinks he's learned enough) yet completely ignores the Corazon plotline (only having Corazon pass along a vague message to Sengoku for no narrative purpose other than to look mysterious and cool). He also meets Bellmere, Nami and Nojiko, but not only does he leave before Arlong arrives, he does nothing to help the villages prepare (he doesn't even warn them). The point I stopped reading was when he runs into Robin in the West Blue... and decides to not recruit her--despite recruiting just about every woman he meets--just because she'll be on Luffy's crew later. Interesting power? Barely explored. Minor characters? Barely developed. Interactions with canon? Barely any changes. The author took some ideas with great potential... and ignored all of it, producing this waste of time instead.
WalterHeisenberg:Can you tell me more? Id rather not read it if what you say is true.
