I read until chapter 17: The premise is good, I thought this would be another fun light novel with the Reincarnator & KingdomBuilding genre. But for someone who claims to be a wealthy entrepreneur (who is certainly a genius) and swears confidently that he'll make sure everything is flawless because he once died, Grant's character is a bit of a moron. Building an empire but underestimating building a military? this is the dumbest act of the kingdombuilding genre. You could try to build a humane character who struggles to overcome problems, but a character who forgets the basics of building an empire? So idiotic. Sorry author, I'm a little disappointed. I decided to pause reading this story until I got motivated again to read this story and hope that the next chapters are good.

although I agree that he sometimes acts a little unintelligent, it isn't exactly in a wealthy entrepreneur's repertoire to build up a medieval style military anyways. His original blunders can easily be accounted to how different the new world is and the shock of his arrival. No matter how intelligent he was an an entrepreneur in his past life, it would be strange for him to so simply and easily adapt to such a drastic change in environment. Kingdom building and business building are two different things.

Thank you for reading despite my novice-like take on it! However, the MC from the earth that is possessing the body is not a ruler, but a businessman. He has more or less the ability to build infrastructure but not military strength as he is only accustomed to hiring bodyguards. All the while, the original owner of the body is the lord, he wasn't given the chance to be educated by his father who died early in his childhood, thus relying on his servants' opinions and issuing unorganized projects along with the others who only sees profit and innovation as the goal. If you ask why not build a military from the start, it would be because the MC had no way of hiring them early on due to the famine on the lands.

Hey author I am curious. Right now I am in a reading streak of a different story so will take some time to come here. Does this story include industrialization, tech gap and such. Will there be introduction to hot weapons like firearms. At least later down the line. Getting tired of system cheats. Guilty pleasure but it gets dull and cringe. Do they start off as medieval footmen militias with some mercenaries? I'm just looking for certain Kingdom building and army building. Not too fast or too slow (though I would not mind). I just like hearing opposing haughty aristocrats or nobles react when they hear an army of theirs lost to bunch of staves/rifle wielding commoners who probably think uses magic. Oh and hearing peasants and commoners receiving education. The Prussians created primary education and it helped strengthen their military. Also why we have primary education today. Hopefully the mc doesn't use the bad side of the Prussian model if this is in the story. MC I assume will need to go through hoops in securing resources like gunpowder, breachloading mechanisms with the help of blacksmiths, certain cash crops and farming techniques, materials for say textile industry, rifles, blades, explosives, medicine, herbs, chemistry, etc.

Oh and if there is magic, perhaps industrialization could happen faster with fire magic and electricity.

Yes! Well, if I can say so. Businessman usually does not have experience in military stuff. However, although the MC is knowledgeable at certain things, he might come as idiotic in some aspects and I acknowledge that as the writer! But to consider your question about the military and technological advancements, in the later chapters, the MC will have hints about his plans that are prepared for the future. Executing his ideas and military preparations early on will not be a very good idea as the others might get suspicious of a city's sudden growth out of nowhere. He is aware that his military power is weak right now but with his incompetent yet sufficient use of magic, he can solve physical problems with his trusty servants.

Yes! Thank you for noticing that! Not every genius would be a genius in all categories!

And to answer your questions about firearms, yes. It's quite likely that he would make them starting with vehicles. However, spoiler alert, there might be some Kingdom that is already working on them.
