I really hope this novel gets more attention. I think it deserves to be higher ranked. I'm a huge fan of novels like Trafords Trading Club, Black Tech Internet Cafe and Gourmet in Another World, where the mc's "system" revolves around them running a "business" of some sorts. This novel does something similar in that he runs an inn (obviously). The author often switches points of view, letting us see how his various guests perceive the mc and his inn while also giving us more insight into the cultivation system and the greater world surrounding him. The author does a good job making the reader curious about the world by gradually showing interesting bits and pieces, making me want to see more of what it has to offer. Unlike the other shop system novels, the mc here isn't really given much protection against powerful threats, nor does his cultivation advance fast enough to defeat 99% of his customers. It does lead to a bit of suspension of disbelief, but not so much that it hinders my enjoyment of the story much if at all. It often leads to the mc having to use deception to protect himself against powerful enemies. The mc is competent enough that I havnt been frustrated at any of his decisions, unlike allot of mc's in other novels. He also doesn't feel fake for lack of a better word. Often times in the novels on this site the characters don't act or speak like real people. They feel really artificial in a way that I cant quite put my finger on sometimes. In this novel none of the characters seem particularly deep but they feel fleshed out, believable, and likable. There are some plot holes and convenient plot armor here and there, but they are so small compared to everything else the novel has to offer that I don't really care. I really like how the story's plot doesn't solely revolve around his inn. His inn may be the driving force behind most events, but the developments outside his shop are interesting in their own right. I only have a couple small criticisms so far. First is more of a personal preference. I feel like his cultivation is progressing too slowly. Nearly 200 chapters in and he hasn't made much progress (won't say which realm to prevent spoilers). At this rate the story seems like it will be like 2k+ chapters. While not a huge problem, I've rarely read stories that are able to keep the same quality of writing when the chapter count gets that big, if they even finish at all. Often times getting repetitive and stale. My only other minor criticism is the consequences of certain quests failing seems to be a bit harsh and the issuing of quests seems really random and arbitrary. Perhaps it's because it's still too early and my understanding of his system's purpose is lacking, but it's how I feel for now. Anyways sorry to whoever, if anyone, is reading this. Just kind of let all my feelings out and it got a bit long. If you like system novels like the previously mentioned ones, give this one a shot. You won't regret it.

For some reason the spaces between paragraphs didn't show up in my review. Sorry.
