Hating the harem genre doesn't necessarily mean they're gay. Try viewing it from their standpoint, some external factors might've caused them to gloat this specific genre. One of the reasons is also their religion; for example, Christianity doesn't practice polygamy and some of them find having more than one or two wives unfaithful, or in some RARE cases, disgusting.
