I looked up artefact and didn't see this but whatever. I'll just continue assuming it's a EU English thing. *shrug*

artifact vs artefact They are two different spellings of the same word. Artefact is the original British English spelling. Artifact is the American English spelling. Interestingly, unlike most American spellings, artifact is the accepted form in some British publications.
