25 chapter review and summary: 🖋 Spoilers: As the novel starts, you learn that the FL's father is incompetent at business and has to resort to basically selling his two daughters to keep the company afloat. He sells the FL's half-sis first to a super rich dude. The sister is actually nice to the FL so far. But, the step-mom and father are the worst😑. They first try and sell the FL to an old, ugly widow for 50 million. The FL then makes a deal with her dad: If she can get him 300mill in 3 months, then she doesn't have to marry the old guy. So the FL's great plan to get the 300 mill? Scheme against the ML 🥲. Yep, if you've read the synopsis you'll know they going to sleep together and she'll get pregnant and, voilá... She's got herself 300 million just like that. Just so you know, the ML doesn't care that he is schemed against. The two of them actually knew each other when they were younger because she was his sister's best friend growing up. To point out (this is important), the FL is extremely beautiful. Described as a vixen and all men want her. Now, I don't have a personal problem with women using their good looks to get what they want in life. I personally believe being born beautiful and being able to use it to your advantage is no different than someone born with a natural ability towards maths or a certain sports. However, I can't say much about the FL as a person. While I won't go as far as saying I hate her, she certainly isn't that likeable overall. So far she's just bland 😒. I don't see much of a personality other than she doesn't let anything bother her- which I do find a strength. But that's all. As for the the relationship between the FL and ML, while they have had some interactions, I personally never felt like there was much there. She doesn't like him at all and only wants his money. He only likes her body. I know they will grow to like each other but there should at least be better chemistry and dialogue between the two. Aargh. It falls flat for me, this novel 🤷🏽‍♀️.
