This novel is one of top novel. Power system is very similar to supergene novel with few difference. Mc, especially in beginning and in first nightmare was especially amazing other thank few instances of naive and foolishness. But he lost all that when he get friend and become simp for heroine. It is really sad, Mc has a lot of potential for a awesome Mc, but alas.he also cares for his family which is pathetic .i guess that's the difference between people who are born monster and monster created by circumstances, latter are just imitation of former.after he started having morals and friend and love He become same as most of other Mc. I still hope that he will fully become what he can be.a True monster .

his character development most of the time just happens for the sake of it. like he doesn't even try to get revenge for becoming a slave, and his character was he despised being a slave a d hated his fate. He wasn't emotionless in the beginning but he was cunning. that is what we wanted but he got pussified after he had a fallout with them. I see no character development.

He is human afterall and just because he has power doesn’t mean he’s going to throw everyone he meets under the bus just cuz he can. He’s killed people before though. Not to mention he does need to make these connections if he really does want to survive, especially since this world relies on cohorts a lot. What better way to get through harsh trials than people you’ve actuallystruggled with before?
I don’t know if I fully agree with what you say, but I understand what you are getting at. I dont think the author was going for a completely dark and emotionless MC. At the start he was, but over time he has character development and changes like most people would. I don’t know your circumstances, but I think caring about one’s family isn’t a pathetic thing to do. Also I can see you struggled with this apps auto correct just as I have lol.
Everything depends on circumstances. In this world you need family to live and for support because we have no personal power but in novel, not only his family can't support him but is a burden. There are no benefits from helping them other than deceiving enemy into believing that your family is a weakness but obviously Mc isn't that smart. Still, your opinion belongs to you, it doesn't matter to me.
