Honestly, the story isn't bad. I think a lot of people can enjoy this story, it is written well from what I can tell. I also particularly enjoyed how diverse magic roots were. That being said, my reasons for not continuing to read this story are more than what I can enjoy. 1) I don't really enjoy stories where it feels like the MC is just following the same route as many others have in the past, and THAT has already been shown multiple times because the academy is written in history, and many people seem to remember the academy from the past. 2) I WAS thrilled of the possibility of the academy remaining hidden, and just nurturing disciples to go out into the world, but that went down the drain as soon as they were almost immediately found by another academy. 3) I don't like how the 'Principal' is having so much trouble learning magic with his aptitude, magic root, and many other advantages when the return doesn't seem so amazing (just can change elements of spells) Also him having to do stuff personally (such as sell monster stuff)

All I can say is it is to prevent the Otherworld from tracking their current actions and to protect the inhabitants indirectly. Any academy presence in an area leads to two outcomes, complete destruction or the Otherworld simply leaves. In addition, the two parties are rivals so they are bound to gather information against one another. The inhabitants chanced upon the Otherworld's archives after they defeated the demonic creatures. They would then know of the academy and the Otherworld takes note of it. Wiping the inhabitants' memories at that moment would prove the Otherworld's assumption that the academy is nearby and it is time to attack. At that point, the academy can't do much. Burning them in advance wouldn't help either. The demonic creatures are intelligent and has eidetic memory. They will know what was on a particular place and if the inhabitants missed some information, they'll know that the academy is in play. Also, the historical archives inscribed on the libraries are legends only in name. Except for a few people (those who read the archives left by the Otherworld), the public is oblivious or doubtful of the academy's existence.

Forst_Lost:Honestly, its a really great backstory. But my question is... if everything involving HMA is so secretive and utilizes memory wiping, how can they exist in history and through various individuals actually remembering them? Why is the dimension of such a powerful force so easily discovered?

Thank you for your review and I understand one's personal preferences. I, however, need to correct some of the points established here. The first point generally leans on a spoiler-type correction but I'll have to do it anyway. The HMA's existence actually depends on the situation with regards to the big picture. At some point, HMA exists to 'introduce' magic in a non-magical world by secretly recruiting disciples (where this outcome aligns to your presonal preference) and wipe the student's memory of the academy once they were done. On another hand, the HMA will also come in play to respond against the threat of the Otherworld, which is MC's reason for being thrown into the story. Only a few worlds realize the HMA's existence. Aludia is one of them . I won't dabble much on this because that would spoil the mystery of HMA even further. Now, for the second point. The MC is not having a hard time learning magic. He is having a hard time casting it. There's a difference between theory and application and Eluard performs best on the former due to his high aptitude. It was explicitly explained through his magic root's degradation effect that casting spells are more difficult due to the presence of various magical elements in his mana. He found a way to lessen this degradation effect after inventing his own way of casting magic spells. Last is MC doing personal business. This is a very early part of the story where no other staff is there but him to run errands in sustaining the resources of the academy.
