maybe for the weebs the comic is also VERY thin compared to the novel ( i was a big fan of the novel ).the story progress is very fast here

Well, maybe because instead of old uncle we prefer to look at (comic) sexy lady? đ In the novel even if its also a lady instead of old man, we cannot see them both. So perhaps they change it just for the sake of the beauty of it......
