I Am The Fated Villain tells the story of how Chinese Sephiroth uses the power of Stockholm Syndrome to cuck obnoxious cultivation protagonists. One of the novel's features is the scheming as it quickly evolves past simple cat and mouse. In order to become the invincible ruler the world, our protagonist Gu Changge plays the impostor in a big game of Among Us against the cultivation world. Since the story has a good level of logical consistency, reading through Gu Changge's plots will provide an ample supply of big brain moments. Unusual for a cultivation novel, I Am The Fated Villain has great characterization. There are a lot of very memorable side characters; personalities are distinct, motives are clearly explained, and interesting character development is common. How these characters react to Gu Changge's actions is the novel's main source of tension and payoff. The novel does have flaws that stick out to me. The exposition is sometimes repetitive. The power system is utterly one-note. Gu Changge feels too perfect. Also it's quite fun to read, specially if you're someone like me, whi loves cold-blooded villain MC who will do anything in order to get stronger. And the transaction quality was also degraded over after 200 or so chapters. Wonder if author will correct them in future. So overall: PERFECTION *Phew that was quite a work*

The quality isnt the greatest but its not like the authors getting paid they dont allow powerstones and even if they did I wouldnt be mad. Despite the translation I like the story.

I already read the original translation up to chap. 144 and I try to read here for continuation because the update is slow and as I'm reading this my brain cells is slowly decreasing because of the translation I just can't understand what is happening, sometimes random numbers appear and the word United States just came out of nowhere😂

The only thing I don't like about this novel is the fact that MC hardly has anyone who he can completely trust and can confide in(i am in ch 270), for example, his fiancee seriously loves him and although a bit yandere like still tries to protect him, MC also has good feelings for her (don't know if its love or not), but still instead of talking and confiding in each other he hardly talks to her even though she knows most of his secrets except a few. Instead of having a few true friends or lovers he can freely talk to, it's like he is playing mind games with the world and is constantly putting facades in front of even his closest people, and he ignores or forgets about a few important people(like his first girl victim). It's like the only use of the few girls he made fall in love with him when he had a choice to either kill them or subjugate them he chose the harder method for no reason instead of killing them which will give him much better rewards, and then completely forgetting them until something relevant to them happens. The protagonist being a completely solo person while having a fiancee that was ready to go against the world for him is a serious letdown. Except for a few such relationship problems of the MC, the story is pretty good.
