I thought people were exaggerating in their comments but what's worse is the truth. MC acts very stupid for anyone who has lived in the cultivation world. Giving a gift to your brother (who wants to kill him), etc. Besides, 90% of the writing is not from the MC's vision.

It says a lot when the negative reviews all come from readers who only read the first few chaps, while the positive reviews come from readers who've read past it. I tried to make it as obvious as I can that there's more to that gift, but I still get reviews like this. It would be fine if the negative reviews came from readers who've read further ahead but instead it came from readers who've read a little and decided to bomb the book with negative reviews...sigh what can I do ig...

Yeah, this shows you how important the beginning chapter and the use of synopsis is.. You want to attract the reader, but you make an annoying beginning chapter, and HOPING everyone to stay and continue reading your novel.. Plus, even your synopsis kinda average without any interesting spoiler.. Do you know why many top movie/TV series trailers are willing to spoil some action/drama in their trailer? What else, it is to attract more viewer for their movie.. Most movies and TV series have a boring beginning to build up some plot for "action later on".. But, they spoil us with their trailer on that "later" part.. They didn't show the boring beginning.. So, think again, is your beginning chapter attractive to make the reader want to continue reading your novel?? And what is your synopsis you wrote about for this novel, the beginning of your novel? So, take this novel as experience.. Not many authors have started as good right away.. Some authors did become better after experiencing it.. Some authors have a fast growth, and some did take a lot of time.. Well, everyone has a different pace.. Instead, use the negative review to push yourself harder..

I've learned a lot from writing this book and these negative reviews. From these negative reviews, I've realized some readers don't like the MC taking an L, even if that L was disguised as a W. These negative reviews aren't saying the starting chaps are annoying because of what happened, they're saying they're annoying because of what they assumed happened. Read the one-star reviews and you'll see they're all talking about one specific thing, "Mc gave away his talent because he doesn't want to become emperor" but that's not what happened. If the negative reviews were about anything else than this specific thing I would have accepted the criticism, but the thing they're criticizing didn't even happen... Ah, about the synopsis, I think it's fine, it introduces the MC and the premise of the book, a premise that gives a lot of context to the beginning chapters. Not all synopsis have spoilers in them.
