Writing is similar to composing music, or painting. Here, is the painting, the book, that gotten my attention because every detail etched well from one scene to another-- immersive.
The use of words are concise which allows more space for extra description in most paragraphs, unlike most novels that lacks better wording either in long or short paragraphs. Besides that, I did got confused when reading some few lines but I got to understand them when rereading the lines, no biggie.
Though, I know only fair amount about criticizing the ways of literature, but I know when I enjoy reading. Unless, if it is regarding character designs, then that is my forte.
The character designs in this book are refreshing and excellent due to the fact that most novels involving fantasy (yes, I love using comparison) would either give the subspecies characters an almost splitting image design of existing characters like the ones from monster musume. In contrast, some examples from this author's book which are Alga with her authentic mushrooms, and Euglith with her 'smoky tears'.
For world background, the original hero's world is intriguing while the other is similar to ours but the fact that there are also bits of supernatural jeopardy in Leah's world, leaves a large of potential background that the author can use.
Other than that, Is it enjoyable? yes, and will also be for readers who loves angst, sweet genderbender and indulge in the dark side of humanity. Take a small read, and I ensure it will be a lovely ride.
By the way, Leah best waifu, and I'm looking forward to your career, author TaffyCaster
