Here's my opinion. Many people like fanfiction but that's because they have read fanfiction written by good authors and I also love reading their novels (for example The Plagiarist, all his novels were copied in the beginning and usually is much better than its origin because he improves it, believe me I've tried reading The Wizard World and The Plagiarist made his novel many times better than it). Now the problem with other Chinese authors is that a lot of the ones that copy others' stories aren't good story tellers. The point of fanfiction is what if, so they say what would happen if this changed or this was included in that world, then it changes the story due to the butterfly effect (or at least the authors creativity). But the bad authors (this refers to all bad Chinese authors not just the fanfiction authors or ones who copy good novels) I'm speaking of either copy and paste with nothing new and everything happening the same way, or they change the world to one full of plotholes, and characters with no common sense or logic. Those are just the basic problems for novels which we call 'trash'. As for non-trash novels they still might not be good because a novel at least needs an interesting plot and good side-characters besides having a great mc, for the readers to immerse themselves in the novel

I see what you're saying however, a review is their to critique the authors work. A review is suppose to be constructive and not slandering. People choose to read others view to see their opinions on said work, however, that is not the intended purpose just a benefit and alternate use. Ultimately, the main purpose remains, to respectfully inform the author of your thoughts on his work.

I think his point is all of the 1 star reviews over things that are in the tags. if it's in the tags don't give bad reviews because of it

most of the reviews insult the story after reading the synopsis and haven't read even 10 chapters. and they don't give a review instead they insult Chinese, the translators, or web novel while shouting pedophile or bought reviews. honestly reviews should be a review of its good and bad points not just insulting people
