This book was hard for me to review. While the translation is good and the story is different from the transmigration/reincarnation types that have been released, the story itself is incredibly unrealistic. **Spoilers ahead** Our FL is depicted as this Chinese medical heroine who saves people with her accupuncture needles and prescriptions one day at a time. She’s like this miracle goddess who comes from the country to a city that only uses and values Western medicine. Her ‘new’ (actually old) medical knowledge is able to cure any kind of disease - even the ones Western medicine can’t, mind you. I kid you not: 🟡 Extreme allergy that’ll kill you? No worries. Yun Jin medical genius is here to save you with her needles. 🔴 Heart attack? Relaaaaaxxx. It’s so easy to cure with accupuncture needles. 🟢 Severe concussion? Got nothing one this herione. 🟣Leukemia? Biiiiischh please 😎. This FL can cure you quick, quick. All of the above happens in the first 35 chapters of the book. Now, if this were a fantasy novel where magic, and supernatural powers exist I would accept all this easily. But this book is set in a world that is meant to be realistic. I know Chinese medicine works, but not to the extent that it can cure all illnesses with no side-effects 🤯. Based on the descriptions of how they use ‘brick’ cell phones as well as CD players, I’m guessing the book is set in the 80’s or 90’s in China. It’s not specifically stated what year in the 35 chapters so far. So again, you have a modernish world. It’s completely ordinary but you have this FL who can do extraordinary things. I’m not sure who the ML is here. Multiple guys are going to fall for her, and I’m not sure if she’ll choose anyone or this will be some reverse harem. I think the ML is the doctor Lin Yuan, however other readers have said that he is not 🤷🏽♀️. It’s very inconclusive at this point. Also, I don’t like how everyone is at first very apprehensive about her medical skills and then turn into fawning whorshippers of her after she saves someone. It happens way too often. If I’m not wrong, she has saved at least 5 people in 35 chapters and everytime the crowd would go from: ‘You’re crazy, you can’t save people with Chinese medicine’ to: ‘Wow, you are all powerful, I worship the ground you walk on’. That’s a brief summary of what happens EVERYTIME she saves someone😒. Not my personal favourite.
