Some useful information. #1 English is not even close to my main language, so don't expect good grammar, just something readable. #2 This fanfic, it's just something to pass the time, so I don't expect anything at the level of paid writers. #3 If you did not like the fanfic, just remove from your library. #4 Yes, the protagonist is not how you want him to be, and if you're feeling bad, write your own fanfic.

LIKEI see a lot of authors make the same excuse English is not my first language so don't complain about the grammar. so what we can't complain at all?? what if it's completely unreadable??????? I'm starting to feel like they use it as a license to get away with bad grammar and so they don't have to put any effort in becoming better writers in English. which I think is counterproductive. as I always thought the point of writing these fanfics in another language was to become better at it and in order to become better you need to be criticized and have people point out what you did wrong in a constructive manner. if your first language is truly not English you should be asking people to point out grammar errors and point out how you could have phrased your wording better. honestly it breaks my heart when I find a fanfic with an amazing story premise but I can't read it because the author's first language is not English and the grammar so bad it's unreadable and he won't take criticism about his grammar or actively try to fix it.
he didn't say don't complain he simply said not to expect much which means he's simply aware that he is likely to mess up and because of such decided it was beat to warn us of such
