Starts out very strong, interesting and unique. Unfortunately as soon as the Hogwards arc starts we end up with the curse of many fanfics which is "practically retelling of original storyline with little twist". And as it stands 19 chapters in, there has been little to no change at all. Of course, there are people that can like it, and the following chapters are full of possibility... but there isn't much to hope for since MC is sorted into Griffindor at the same age as golden trio and becomes their tag along friend. Which makes me believe this is going to be yet another "the main storyline from perspective of different character" type of story. A shame really.

And you would be wrong 🤔🤷♂️ He’s a part of the group but isn’t really a tag along, he has his own story and his own agenda so far, sure there are times he helps the group but what would you expect with someone who knows almost nothing about the Harry Potter world and had a childhood like he did, especially after seeing how Harry aunt and uncle treated him…not really sure how making a review at chapter 19 about what might happen makes any sense but oh well 🤷♂️
Nope. I read till ch40 even with MC meddling the story stick word by word to original story. You'd think MC action should change and cause butterfly effect but Nah, the cannon and all events stay exactly the same except MC will end up saving the day in the similar fashion to plot instead of golden trio hardwork. If i want this I'd just go read OG novels, they are better written anyway, why would i read a third rate copy.

🤷♂️ never said it didn’t sometimes but that doesn’t mean the mc/oc doesn’t have their own story and their own plot line and honestly there is a butterfly effect, the simple fact that the Trio don’t go through most of the things that they went through in the original is an automatic example of it and that’s not counting the arcs like when he went and saved Tonks from a hoard of vampires or him finding out that he met the embodiment of death and apparently had some deep connection with it or when he went and confronted Lucius Malfoy, then there’s the part it at now with him and the trio finding and challenging hidden vaults. What you want is something where every single detail is different but you keep failing to realize this is a fanfic of an already created story and some authors like to keep some parts of the original story. I’m like you where I hate when the author just retell a story completely word by word and scene by scene but there are a multitude of scenes, words, lines and interactions that wasn’t in the original story just like with the mc actually fighting Voldy when he was found in the forest instead of the original where Harry was the only person to actually see him physically and everyone just left it alone after he ran away or him actually destroying horcruxes wayy before they were even known about and let’s not forget just him killing Sirius Black was automatically something that never happened.
