Initially thought that this would be a promising read, but disappointment comes easily. I think many things could have been handled with greater wisdom and intellect. Lots of misunderstandings brought about by the initial situation he already is in when we start the story - but there seems to be little to no attempt at any communication or reconciliation thus far (trial read). All parties are hot-blooded (but it's military, so ok I guess), but could be more military-esque by going through certain channels and utilizing certain resources. It's a hot mess of a situation and a hot mess of an MC. Violence seems to be the only answer, and it doesn't solve the root of problems.
