This novel is so sh$t, I mean this is just too overated, the baron gives mc gifts but the mc doesn’t trust the baron. I hate ungrateful mc’s like this because he was already being treated good without any bad intent but he still doesn’t trust the baron, he is also easily provoked and hides his true strength in a war.

Bruh I know that what I said was a little out of point but he still is ungrateful, I mean he already spent a lot of time with the man at least trust him a little. The man literally gave the mc HIS SWORD where he could have just gave the mc a new and more good quality one.

And then ? This person can simply give him his sword and make him happy to have his loyalty, to use him for himself etc. Especially at the time in this novel when the psychology to have the loyalty of a subordinate you didn't have it by several ways. There is two ways : the money and the donation if you don't pay attention to that anymore you can be betrayed. But the mc pays attention to that. You never know what's on people's minds especially when they're "too" Nice to you. He can be wrong but that doesn't prevent a good person from investing in a person to use him later without hatred but just to take advantage of it and have advantages for himself. Not like friend. It happens à lot there is a lot of this kind of people in a novel and the mc understood it very well in a new world you have to be attentive and suspicious in all aspects of your life especially in a society where there is extraordinary power. Even friends betray in so many novels so when he pays attention to a suspicious person who gives him his sword and so on it's totally normal. I'm a bit late in replying but that's okay.
