TL;DR : A great book that might not be fast paced, but definitely isn’t slow paced. A lot of focus on character interaction and growth with a by no means a small amount of action in there. I think the author balances many of the elements really well, which gives it a very refreshing feel. I’m on ch 19 and i have to say, this novel as got me excited. It’s not fast paced, and when i originally heard that, I wasn’t expecting much, but after reading how in depth some of the conversations go and how real the main character seems, I was blown away. Tbh, some things don’t make sense to me, I don’t know if it’s just me or it wasn’t explained well enough, but after enough re-reading, I always ended up getting it, but i had to think about it. Some of the stuff in here isn’t a “skim your way through and you’ll get the gist of it” especially in regards to magic, at least for me. However, visualizing everything is incredible. The author is very descriptive when it comes to the surroundings of the MC and makes you feel like you could be right next to him. If there was something I could say to the author, it would be that I’m not sure how the MC learns so fast, whether it be magical skills or physical skills. From what I have read so far, 19 chapters, he seems like he got the short end of the stick in just about everything, so I don’t know if he has great intelligence or if it is explained in later chapters, but I’m loving the novel so far. Honestly, this novel is awesome and I would totally recommend this to anyone who is interested in a bard’s tale. I’ve been seeing some similarities being drawn in video game novels where multiplayer games are more for players who are all about being the best or like fast paced stuff, while people who play offline games are about the story and taking their time. I wouldn’t say this is a slow paced novel, it knows when to focus on things and slow down, and when to speed up.

Thank you for such an in depth and nice review. Honestly, when I first read it, my mind was thinking, 'Is he really talking about my novel?'. This was because I actually took a month off from writing this novel, the updates were still consistent because I had stockpiled quite a bit. After reading your review one more time and thinking back, I realized it was more or less true (even though I feel you are over praising it, lol). As for writing things that require you to think it over, it was inspired by other things I've seen. For example, a song that sounds condescending was actually a sad one once I thought about the lyrics. Then, in stories, I understood the thought process of authors when they made seemingly inconsistent plot choices. I felt like I could relate to the author, that we had both experienced a similar despair. So far, I've been dabbling in this concept. However, I want to go even further and bigger with this. That may take a while though since it is not exactly easy to make such a convoluted plot. Now obviously, many of the hidden meanings will be lost to even the most observant people out there. However, that is fine and I don't think it's necessary for readers to go over the story to force themselves to understand. For more confusing plot points, I believe they will only be understood by those that have gone through something similar. For others, it won't be that important, so missing them entirely might even be a good thing. A part of me actually highly doubted that anybody would get far enough to see the paying chapters. After all, this is my first book and it has plenty of mistakes. That's why seeing you enjoy this book makes me quite happy. I'm sure you'll get bored of it eventually, but thanks for being here while it lasts.

Yea, I’m really loving it so far, almost caught up, I love how for the most part, the character is consistent with himself and every change he’s made about himself is explainable. It really does feel like this is a real person who this is really happening to. Thank you for the novel :)
