The translation is good but the story itself just isn't very interesting. The prompt is kind of a post-apocalyptic world where humans fight mutated animals and while humans can become stronger via genetic enhancements the "genetic warriors" are still much weaker than the mechas the humans also use to fight the mutated beasts and thus looked down upon. MC was supposed to be admitted as the first of his class to the mecha course but his spot was taken by some dude who discovered the girl he tried to court actually liked MC (I mean, not further explanation needed right?). So he has the system but hardly uses it, seems to me like he could get infinitely stronger but for some reason, he hardly uses his system (that reason is probably to increase the length of the story). Generally, I don't even blame the author for stalling it out since I really don't see a way this gets beyond 40 chapters without unnecessary drama to make up for the word count because as I said it seems to me that as long as MC was willing he could become invincible in a matter of hours. There is also this extremely generic female childhood friend who is also from a very influential family blah blah blah so from fantasy it became a drama and I don't like dramas so no thanks for me. Wouldn't recommend it.

LIKEThe main way for the humans to fight against the mutated monsters is with mechas although MC generally doesn't use that so far
AskAndzar:Question. The title is age of mecha. What's the relation with the genetic?

If author is finding it difficult to prolong the story because the system is unreasonably op , then you can see what he could have changed. Does the system need to give him 100x his strength because he absorbed ant genes ? The answer is no. Author could have easily keeped these number down but webnovel doesn't do any quality check before choosing its trial reads.
I agree but I also think messing around with accurate numbers like 100 times and going by kg is also a big part of the problem

I'm far more inclined to believe that this is actually a Faloo novel, and so Webnovel is butchering the original plot like it usually does by plopping in random mechanics that never get used to "differentiate" it enough to not get sued. That seems to be the most common reason for nonsensical power scaling in trial reads these days.
