Review Detail of avto_labadze in Dawn of a Thousand Suns, Book I: Arch De Angels

Style: The description is a combination of minimal and overdone but mostly fine. I found that I needed to pay a lot of attention to understand the book. I enjoyed the use of flashbacks which made me extremely intrigued. Story: Good. It’s a bit of a slow burn but I’m not mad at that! I think it was well done. Grammar: No noticeable issues however turning on reader suggestions would mean that the occasional strange phrasing could be fixed. Characters: From the first chapter, Lai immediately stood out as my favourite (despite the relatively small amount of time spent with her). Some of the characters are slightly blurred- at one point, Michael says his name is not Michael but Lucius but then it continues talking about Michael and Lucius who are two separate characters. Despite this, I like Michael and Lucius. I think they are mostly well written and good characters! Lucius’ past is very interesting and I’d love to learn more about it. World building: There is clearly an expansive and well thought out world that I’m interested in exploring. It could be shown better, I think, though more description as they run through the city but these are small tweaks! Overall, I think this book is good, and with a little bit of editing, it can be very good!
