I’m not sure if that’s an accurate statement though. First of all can you fuse with new roots while you have a single element core formed, and second of all even with his cultivation he needs the target’s admiration to take their abilities and you don’t know whether he can make someone that hates him admire him instead. Basically maaaybe it was suboptimal, but it wasn’t stupid.

If you read carefully you should know that he actually got the root before he restarted his cultivation. It's just that he didn't know that he need to balance all of it so he was troubled by the low fire root.

Even so, instead of Cultivating for 3 years with this slow speed, it would be better if he spent all the time searching for the final top tier root. I meant even if it took him one year. After the upgrade one day will equal 1000 days of his work with the low tier fire root

Also even if it took him years, it is better than Cultivating with these trash roots. Do you understand how bad they are if one year of work with these trash one won't even take one day of work with better ones?

Dude even a mortal could kill him, so why do you want him to traverse the world to search for something he might as well not find? Also he used those 3 years to earn the admiration of countless sect disciples and taught them with his cheat. His system is a lottery so getting a rune isn‘t the only thing possible.
