Overall the story was captivating and heart-warming though sometimes I skipped some parts because I found the lengthy descriptions uninteresting. The children are really devoted and know how to be grateful. SPOILER The children's father is somewhat frustrating and I was glad she didn't choose him because even though he tried to do better after his return he had actually let her down way too much before his disappearance and I didn't want them to be together just because of the children as they didn't seem to have any chemistry but my joy didn't last long. Some parts were so heartbreaking that I had a hard time reading them with how badly I was crying my eyes out. I was wondering if Xiao Xi ever realized his pen pal was actually a girl. It's a pretty good novel and the author did a wonderful job creating a background we can immerse ourselves in. The characters development were quite good. Although I'm disappointed with the abrupt ending it's not too bad since we can still imagine their happy ever after love story.
